Soldier is a charming and wonderful 1-year-old, 60-pound Black Lab-mix boy. Soldier is very affectionate and loving; he wants to be around his people all the time. He is great with children. He can be placed in a home with children 7 and up. His favorite pastime is to sit in his humans’ lap and chew a bone. He doesn’t seem to be aware that he’s a big boy! He is an overgrown puppy! Soldier is a quick learner; he can do sit, shake and down, and he’s making great progress on stay and ‘watch me.’ He still needs a little work on walking nicely on a leash and greeting people politely. He gets along with other dogs but doesn’t like to share his treats with them. Dogs barking from behind fences don’t faze him. Soldier is too interested in cats to be placed in a home with them. This great boy is completely housebroken and sleeps quietly all night. He would love to have a fenced yard to run around and play in, and a family who will keep him active and spend time with him. He will be a wonderful addition to your family!

Sheila is a very pretty buff color young adult cat who is INCREDIBLY sweet. She can also be very playful and can be seen sprinting around the cat room with the other cats. Buffy Cream Puff, at 2 years of age, was returned to IDR+ when her family learned that their child was very allergic to Buffy. The family sought a doctor’s help, but to no avail. Sadly, they returned her to IDR+ but still check on her often. Buffy can be a bit scared when first meeting her, but she then warms up. She gets along with children (lived with one previously) and other cats and doesn’t seem to mind dogs. Buffy now waits in a foster home where she is very sweet and enjoys being pet. Her adoption fee is $70 and she is medically complete.

Puss in Boots is a GORGEOUS young, DLH, solid grey female cat, approximately four years of age, that came to Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus from a high volume shelter on the south side of Chicago while still nursing her kittens. Since that time, the kittens have all been adopted and Puss is looking for a home of her own. Puss is affectionate with her foster mom and will RUN to her to say “hello” and rub against her legs. She will also allow herself to be held for short periods, but Puss can also be a little shy at first. One of Puss’ best assets is that she absolutely loves to be around other cats and would make a wonderful companion to a lonely cat! Adoption fee is $35 and she is medically complete. She has had: vet exam, negative FIV/FeLV test, spay, vaccinations, dewormings, negative for fleas and ear mites and microchipped with FREE registration included. Adopt Puss today and find your cat a best friend forever!

Halo is a Siamese mix and is approximately 4 years of age. She is a quiet and unassuming cat who likes a gentle rub and a nice conversation. She is very affectionate with her foster mom, but can get stressed with meeting new cats and will need an understanding adopter who will give her time to settle in if other cats are in the home (Halo lived quite peacefully in a foster cat adoption room with multiple other cats). She was very shy during a photo session but did not mind being pet by someone she has not seen before. Her adoption fee is $70 and she is medically complete.

Judy came to IDR+ from a family surrender situation when her owner passed away. Judy had been living with this owner HER ENTIRE LIFE and yet not one relative would or could commit to providing Judy with a home after she lost her only-known companion. Judy is a very nice and laid back cat who is happy to snooze most of the day away. She would make an excellent companion to watch a movie or read a good book. She is also good with other cats and dogs and a reliable litter box user. As a young senior at 9 years of age, Judy’s adoption fee is only $35 and she is medically complete. She has had a vet exam, negative FIV/FeLV test, vaccinations, fecal test, fecal and ear mite check and microchip with FREE registration included! She has also had a recent dental and a senior blood panel.
Judy is fostered in Willow Springs.
